When couple, Chris and Brigid Scott, made the trip across the ditch a little over six months ago, they had no idea how hard they’d fall in love with their McMahon home in Senna Avenue, exclusively built by Complete by McDonald Jones.
“This house is so liveable,” Brigid put simply. “The design and layout have been carefully thought out. We love the light-filled and spacious feeling that has been created. Quality fittings and beautiful finishes greet us in every room. Superior landscaping and fencing have exceeded our expectations.”
“We didn’t know anything about Complete by McDonald Jones when we came here. I’d never heard of them before,” said Chris, when reflecting on his first experience with a Complete display home.
Rather than wait for their children, who’d already made the leap to Australia to come home and visit them a couple of times a year, the couple decided they’d follow their lead and start a new life chapter in Sydney. The Scotts spent a month searching for their new home, but only met disappointment at every turn.
“We looked through b-grade and c-grade house one after the next,” Chris criticised. That was until they stepped foot in Denham Court in South West Sydney and had a look through one of the Complete by MJ display homes. It was love at first walkthrough.
“The display home was beautifully presented, and I could see just by looking at it that it was very well built. It was like comparing night and day with what we’d previously looked at. Complete was a step ahead.”
Despite this, the Scotts did their due diligence and asked around to get some more intel and were pleasantly surprised to receive exclusively positive reviews.
Being blown away by the display home was a strong start, but the service Complete provided throughout the process was exceptional, even when challenges presented themselves.
“Everything was just so easy,” Chris said about the deposit process. The Scotts took advantage of Complete’s ‘deposit now, pay later’ offer, whereby only a fifteen-thousand-dollar deposit is required until completion of the house.
“It was a very attractive deal. After a month of searching full time, and my own experience in the building industry all my life, I knew this was good value. We are genuinely so happy with what we got,” said Chris.
Unfortunately, a few minor setbacks occurred during the building process and the Scotts’ move-in date was pushed back by a couple of months. However, dealing directly with the site supervisors, and sales manager, Lachlan Helmers, any frustrations were quickly dispersed.
“They had the same professionalism as the display home did. They were pleasant and calm to deal with. They told us exactly what was happening and were so clear about what the situation was. That was helpful and a nice experience. It was well worth the wait when we saw the effort that was going into the detail of the house. The landscaping, for example, was very well done. The finished painting, the tiling, it was all very good.”
“I don’t want to gush too much, but it’s pretty good,” laughed Chris.
The Scotts have now settled in on golden soil and it’s safe to say they’re loving life here, which has only been exacerbated by the enjoyment their new home has provided them.
“We love Australia. It’s basically just a much bigger version of New Zealand. It’s vibrant and we love how multicultural it is. And the weather speaks for itself. I feel like a cat falling on its feet!” Chris said.
